Welcome to the 5th Ave mile training group. Please note this thread is from last year. Steve developed a new thread for 5th Avenue Mile 2011. I'll be posting workouts on the other site.

Sorry guys for my recent absence, but along with still dealing with my father's death and all the logistical issues involved, I've been really busy with a clinical trial for a radically new way of surgically treating obstructive sleep apnea. Things should improve after a few more weeks, when I'll be able to begin running regularly again.

Even though I didn't get to run the mile, what I really appreciated was the support and camaraderie that everyone showed during the training process. Thanks, everyone.

I plan to go to NYRR for my number tonight. I can get others and pass them out tomorrow morning if you're coming. Can I get anyones?

After last night my confidence is rising about Sunday's race. I don't know what will happen, but splits were good, and I wasn't struggling over the line. Form seemed ok thanks to past advice from everyone.

Did some 400s yesterday at 5PM, with 200 recoveries. More challenging to keep the same pace, compared to the group workout on Saturday.
