We have a strong team heading into Join the Voices, perhaps one of the strongest teams I've seen lined up together for VCTC. With our 5th overall in the Marathon we're well positioned to knock off the Whippets for the division. The 5 miler will not be an easy test and the Whippets excel at 4 and 5 mile events, but I'm excited to be racing all out for the victory.

That, of course, means we'll have much stiffer points competition in the A division in 2012. The team continues to grow and get stronger. We've been turning some heads and attracting some pretty quick new members this year and I'm excited for the challenge that is to come.

I'll send notes out periodically about the points races, but know that I am committed to being as helpful as I can to the success of the team. If you need help registering, getting your bib, or even getting to a race, I'll try to help. And of course, I'll be out there pushing as hard as I can to keep up and get faster.

Let's go Vannies! Let's do this!

VCTC is #1.  It was certainly close and very well done by all.  How come this wasn't being shouted from the rooftops.  A win and we're top of the league.  What a fantastic job guys!

Looks like we edged out Dashing Whippets for the top spot in the B division on Portugal Day [pending what seem like the inevitable NYRR corrections to the results.] Good stuff!

Just joined and planned on getting some points on the board for the team. I was lucky enough to get into the Brooklyn Half so I'll see all of you who made it in.

Good effort yesterday guys. I see we only have 4 of us on this group though. Can we all make an effort to get others to join the Men's Open Division Group for next year.

Great effort and result at the Team Champs everyone. Currently we were 12th overall and it looks like 3rd in the B league but it's not official yet as some teams may lose out as we did from unqualified runners being discounted.

If anyone entered the Grid Iron Classic because it WAS a points race and would prefer not to run it, NYRR will refund the entry fee. Just contact Janet Cupo (jcupo@nyrr.org) by 11:59 pm Saturday, January 30.
