Welcome to VCTC!

You've come to the right place if you are looking for a group of runners who enjoy socialising as much as they do running. 

This is such a friendly club.  Some of us run just once or twice a week, some daily, some not at all (but they used to run).  Some race, some jog, some go long, some go short but we all get along just great.  We've all ages and abilities. 

Many use the track on Tuesday nights to improve their speed, but most meet up on Saturday mornings for a social run on the trails of our lovely Van Cortlandt Park and perhaps even up to Tibbetts Brook Park just beyond, followed by breakfast - at the cafe across the road. We meet at the end of the #1 subway so we're easy to reach from the city too! 

Some get together for training runs further afield in Rockefeller Preserve.  Some runners we hardly see, unless there's a race on.  The Club is active in lots of local races as well and the NY Road Runners races and even a few ultra marathons.  The Club even hosts a number of races itself.  We help many runners with their training from the Mile to the Marathon. 

This year we had 31 members taking part in the NYC Marathon, all transported to the start and cheered on by our eager team-mates as they passed through the Bronx.  Finishing times ranged from 2hrs 35mins to 6hrs. We even help people get into the marathon.  On top of that we have several top class social events and often get together for the odd party and there's always that breakfast on Saturday morning.
