I would like to start running to and from work in the near future and have no clue where to start when looking for a decent running backpack. I need something that can carry shoes and clothes, and I'm not interested in an additional hydration package. Any advice/brands/types would be much appreciated! Thanks

- Just completed my first marathon (Hartford) in 4:23; best run to date was the NYC half in just over 2 hours.
- Year's you've been running?
- 11 years very casual, and only one year long-distances
- Most memorable performance(s) and why?
- I'm so new, they are all pretty memorable - although the Hartford marathon was spectacular; the scenery was gorgeous, the crowds were plentiful, and I couldn't have asked for more perfect weather. Mind you, I have no comparisons!
- Future goals?
- I want to improve my half and marathon times.

Absolutely. The track is awash with people of all speeds. We have a group of ladies running marathons around 3.45 - 4.30 who we think quite highly off, and many we slower who we would ever want to be without. You'd fit right in. I would start with Tuesdays since it is a bigger crowd and a bit more social so you get to know folk. Saturdays are totally social with groups doing various length runs around and beyond the park, with brunch afterwards. Come on down tomorrow. Most folk will be marathon tuning so not too tough. - Kevin
