Race report: Napa Valley Marathon

Napa Valley Marathon, March 7, 2010

3:09:18 (7:14/mi)

79/1735 overall, 67/967 M, 16/118 M30-34

By way of background, Napa Valley was my second marathon. The first was in NYC in 2006, where I ran…

Race report: Manhattan Half-Marathon

Manhattan Half-Marathon: 2.5 loops of Central Park.

1:26:37 (6:37 / mi)

(226 / 5441 overall; 218 / 3297 M; 47 / 574 M30-34)

Good enough for a PR by a whopping 4:20 over my Westchester Half. For the first time, I feel a vague sense of confidence in my upcoming Napa Valley Marathon (knock wood).

The plan was to run 6:42 over the first 10 miles, then let it all out and see what happens over the last 5K. Actually, the plan was originally to run… Continue

Race report: first ever track race!

NYRR Thursday Night at the Races 1/7/2010

Mile: 5:30 (83, 86, 83, 78)

800m: 2:29 (35, 39, 38, 37)

There's a danger in writing a track race report that reading the report will take longer than actually running the race, but regardless, here’s the report from my very first track race ever, indoors or outdoors. I can start off by saying it definitely won't be my last, as this was as much fun as I've ever had racing.

The indoor track at the Armory is a… Continue

Race report: Scarsdale Fall Foliage 5K

Kevin and I decided to venture into the chilly 45 degree, rainy, windy Westchester afternoon to put the VCTC mark on the Scarsdale Fall Foliage 5K this Sunday. I think this is usually a fairly small local race at the Scarsdale Historical Society, and given the foul weather, it was even smaller than usual. I would guess there was less than 50 people in total, with a lot of kids and families having a fun Sunday run and it turns out, locals enjoying their first races ever. Still, a race is a race,… Continue

1:30:57 (6:57/mi pace : 33/716 overall, 31/395 M, 12/136 M30-39) [full results]

Pre-race

Jeff and I hitch a ride with Matt to the Westchester County Center, making such good time on the highway that we find ourselves facing an hour before race time. Much better than finding ourselves late, though! The… Continue

NJ is a solid race, good crowd support, but not crowded. 2 loops so great for a PR and my husband got to see me 6 times walking to different points on the loops. Despite the weather, I only have good things to say about NJ - and great goodies - a hat and a long sleeve tech shirt

Hey Mike,

I always wonder how fast you are going at in your profile pic?

You never change even at sub 5:00 pace during track workout.
In this pic however you are surging and almost look like about to kill someone, lol.
