"Not sure about fit@50, but at 47 and 48 worked for me with PRs across the board. Had a slight snag after that but it's coming back. Won teh Scarsdale 5k in 17.57 today. Hopefully more to come when 50 next year. I hope we see you in the fiture!"
Yes, it's "G" here - thank you very much for the invitation! And GREETINGS to all from SUNNY THAILAND!!! I'm watching the Yankees/Angels series here live on ESPN missing my Manhattan in the fall...
Hope everyone is…"
"Hello G (do you prefer to be called G?)
I'm the Membership guy - Kevin. Why not come down and see us Tuesday 7pm at the VCP track (finish line) or join us for a general run on Saturday at 8am outside the stadium on Broadway - bring some money…"
What do you do? What's your profession, what do you do all day?
Educator, background in clincal exercise physiology
Muay Thai boxing; my Thai Rustic Garden
Peeving about pet peeves...
Running PR's List them Here from 100meters to 100miles!
Thanks to bilat menisectomies, a shattered tibia complete with plate & ten screws my last 10K will likely hold the record: 43' flat.
How did you get into running?
Childhood asthma plus a desire to push myself + an interest in mountaneering + Ken Coopers book that made an otherwise boring senior high school class exciting got me into a life of human performance study...
Year's you've been running?
What's your favorite race(s)?
The suburban Detroit Cranbrook Run - on the gorgeous grounds of my Cranbrook Atr School - populated by all sorts of sculpture, waterscapes and gardens...
Most memorable performance(s) and why?
Detroit's previously huge Emily's Midas Run - one year, the field of 10,000 was held up by organizers for over an hour...I got pinched fwd to the front, all the while verbose IMPORTANT PEOPLE gave admonitions "that if you are not an elite runner...GET TO THE BACK!'. The delay, the jostling of the largest field I had ever joined must have lit a fire in my heels as my splits were 5:44 Mile 1 & 6:15 for Mile 2! Ha! That didn't last! Limped in at around 43...
Why do you run?
To push myself while loosing the background dialog we all suffer from...i.e. our daily thoughts on life's other challenges...and to live another day above ground & above water is a not a bad reason I reckon...
What do you consider yourself, The Tortoise, or The Hare?
I start out as the Hare; finish as the Tortoise
Developing our HiEdCOACH & PeakPerformanceSpecialists academic and physical education programs...currently producing a Virtual Sports Med Odysessy called Fit@50! where I serve as both physiologist AND the 50 year old patient...
Any last words? Suggestions to the club admin?
This is an awful lot of personal Q & A...are you sure you are a New Yorker? hehe...Hope to see you in person before long!
