"Janey Cupo wrote back to me and advised me of the three month grace period.  I'm not sure why they call this a "grace" period.  It feels more like a "waiting" period for me.  I told her to switch my NYC…"

Yes, we ensure that runners who qualify get into the Local Elite Corral. Kevin Shelton-Smith handles that for us. We had a number of runners in that corral last year, including Kevin, Mike Arnstein, and Mike Oliva, who all ran under 2:50. We also have a couple of vans that take runners from the Bronx to the starting line on Staten Island. It makes getting to the starting line almost enjoyable. I drove one of the vans last year and then headed to our aid station on 138th Street, but will be running the race this year. (I'm hoping to get down to 1:32 myself so I can get into that corral, but it's a long shot.)

As far as the rule book, I wouldn't worry too much about it. However, I could see it being a potential issue for the Club Team Championships.

You may want to contact NYRR and see about getting your affiliation for the Healthy Kidney and Brooklyn Half changed to VCTC, or, probably better, no club at all.  You're supposed to allow three months to lapse between competing for one club and competing for another.  (It may also mean removing your VCTC affiliation from the last two races you ran.)  Review the info under "Qualifications" on the NYRR Team Championships page.  I think it's Janet Cupo who handles this stuff for NYRR, but could verify that for you, if you'd like.  I'm sure it can all be straightened-out pretty easily

In any event, welcome to the club!  Will you be joining us for either the midweek work-outs or Saturday morning group runs?
